Clipping a PDF: the printout mode

Somebody sends you a link. It ends in .pdf. You want it in your notebook. With our newest update, now the add-link sheet notices. Type or paste a link whose path ends in .pdf and it offers, checked by default, to add it as a printout.

“Printout” is OneNote’s own word for what it does with a file: the document is attached to the page, and its pages are also rendered onto that page, one image apiece. You get the file to open and the pages to read, in the same place.

A PDF that arrives through the Android share sheet, where there is nobody to ask, gets the same offer on the save screen. One tap.
